We don't do greenwashing
With a degree in Environmental Conservation, Fiona built the business to be as eco-friendly as possible. It's the reason we are plastic-free, plant trees, avoid palm oil, and use organic ingredients wherever possible. You can find out more about these points below.
Alongside planting trees with Ecologi, Fiona volunteers on tree planting and other environmental projects when she can. Here she can be seen working on a local tree planting project which involved planting native trees like Birch, Oak, Rowan, and Alder to help revive the Atlantic Rainforest that once covered all of Scotland.
Tree planting projects
We have been planting trees through Ecologi since 2019 and now, every order placed plants a new tree!
Ecologi was initially founded by a group of environmentalists in Bristol, UK who wanted it to be easier of individuals and businesses to contribute to reforestation and carbon capture & avoidance schemes.
Sustainably Sourced
All the chocolate we use comes from Rainforest Allicance certified companies.
As an international nonprofit organization with more than 30 years of experience in sustainability transformation, The Rainforest Alliance works to protect forests and biodiversity, take action on climate, and promote the rights and improve the livelihoods of rural people.
Palm Oil Free
Palm oil is a major driver of deforestation of some of the world’s most biodiverse forests, destroying the habitat of already endangered species like the Orangutan, Pygmy elephant and Sumatran rhino.
This forest loss coupled with conversion of carbon rich peat soils are throwing out millions of tonnes of greenhouse gases into the atmosphere and contributing to climate change. Often there is exploitation of workers and child labour involved too.
These are issues we take seriously so the products we make here at Fetcha Chocolates products are always made without palm oil.
Plastic-free Packaging
We want to leave a mark on your heart, not on the planet, that's why we will never use plastic here at Fetcha Chocolates!
From the smallest box of chocolates, to the largest Easter egg, to the packaging it goes through the mail in, EVERYTHING is plastic free now and always will be.
Sometimes fragile products in your orders might be packed with bubble-wrap but rest assured this is reused from orders that we have received and we encourage you to reuse it too if you can.
Organic wherever possible
All the dark and m*lk chocolate we use in production is organic and wherver possible the ingredietns are organic too, we only use organic sugar and coconut cream for example.
Designed to respect nature and to enhance the health of soils, water and air, organic farming is leading the way on sustainability.
It's better for wildlife too: on average, plant, insect and bird life is 50% more abundant on organic farms, and there are around 75% more wild bees on organic farms.
